Her
studies at Southern Illinois in violin were with Lenora-Marya Anop,
a student of Dorothy DeLay and Paul Kantor, and her studies in
pedagogy were with Vera McCoy-Sulentic, who Cat has said was a "good
thorough teacher, who had a special touch with little kids." While
in college, she performed as a principle leader of several college
groups, and performed with the Omaha and Lincoln symphonies. She has
already taught in professional institutions in the Saint Louis, MO
and Omaha, NE areas. She studied in the summer of 2007 at Aspen
Music Festival and School where she enjoyed witnessing "the
development of young prodigies" and seeing "inspiring master classes
like the ones taught by outstanding artists such as Bobby
McDuffie." These experiences gave her the depth of training
necessary to teach students from 3 to 93 rooted in the finest
traditions of Suzuki and the Franco-Belgian violin schools. |
